Wushu classes are a whole system, a complex that includes health-improving physical education, strength sports, philosophy, and medicine.
Alas, most contemporaries associate wushu with oriental gymnastics, and kung fu, a synonym more often used in the West, is associated with movie characters Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. In fact, both gymnastic exercises and martial wushu reflect only part of a huge “system of systems” that arose a long time ago in the East.

Traditional wushu has been formed and improved over thousands of years. It is not surprising that there is a difference in assessments of this amazing sport, because the basic substyles of Chinese Wushu alone number up to two thousand.

Wushu is a complex of Chinese martial arts that combines physical exercises, breathing practices and elements of self-defense.
