Functional training aids to reach not only superficial muscles but also deep layers of muscles
Functional training is a system of exercises aimed at improving the quality of everyday movements, such as walking, turning, lifting objects. The method was originally developed for medical rehabilitation to restore balance, coordination and mobility. Today, functional training is used to strengthen major muscle groups, increase endurance, flexibility and prevent injuries. Such exercises are suitable for people of any level of training and often include work with your own weight, fitness bands, balls and other sports accessories.
Contemporary fitness is impossible to imagine without functional training aiming at deep muscles conditioning, muscular coordination, strength and stamina developing. Barbell press causes hand shaking?! Cannot easily hold balance on unstable surface?! This happens by reason of undeveloped coordination.
Good balance allows reduces risk of home and exercise injuries. For instance you slid and almost fell on stairs. It is your balance ability that keeps you from falling. Trained muscles promote masterful ski standing, reduced hands and back loading for surfers, joints and tendons reloading for tennis players.
Functional training routines employ balancing surfaces (core board) and sliding surfaces (Flowin) facilities, balls and semi-spheres.
